Solicitors Regulation Authority
The SRA is the independent regulatory body of the Law Society of England and Wales.
The solicitors' profession includes single-solicitor practices and huge firms with a global presence and thousands of lawyers. Solicitors also work in the justice system, in government and within companies. All solicitors follow the same professional principles and code of conduct. The SRA provide advice to help them do so.
Established in January 2007, the SRA was previously called the Law Society Regulation Board. They changed their name to emphasise their independence and to make what they do clearer.
Conveyancing Quality Scheme
The Conveyaning Quality Scheme (CQS) is a recognised quality standard for residential conveyancing practices. It marks out firm's who have a high level of knowledge, skill and expertise in conveyancing.
Family Law Accreditation Scheme
The Family Law Accreditation covers all types of family law work, except public law Children Act work, which is covered by the Children Law Accreditation. Members will have shown that they have and will maintain a high level of knowledge, skills, experience and practice in the area of family law.

Children Law Accreditation Scheme
The Children Law Accreditation Scheme covers all types of children law work. Members will have shown, to the satisfaction of the Law Society, that they have and will maintain a high level of knowledge, skills, experience and practice in the area of children law, be that in private practice or working for a local authority.

The Criminal Litigation Accreditation covers all types of criminal law work.
Members will have demonstrated through external examination that they have and will maintain a high level of knowledge, skills, experience and practice in the area of criminal litigation.

Resolution Panel Membership
Resolution, which was formerly known as the Solicitors Family Law Association (SFLA), is an organisation of 6,500 family lawyers and other professionals in England and Wales, who believe in a constructive, non-confrontational approach to family law matters. Resolution also campaigns for improvements to the family justice system.
Resolution supports the development of family lawyers through its national and regional training programmes, through publications and good practice guides and through its accreditation scheme. Resolution also trains and accredits mediators and is the only body providing training and support for collaborative lawyers in England and Wales.

The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) is the leading worldwide professional body for practitioners in the fields of trusts, estates and related issues. STEP is a unique professional body providing members with a local, national and international learning and business network. STEP provides education, training, representation and networking for its members.

Specialist Quality Mark
The Specialist Quality Mark (SQM) was introduced in 2002 as a quality management system for legal aid providers. It is part of a family of standards that underpin the LAA Legal Aid Agency (LAA) and Criminal Defence Service (CDS), and aims to enable Legal Services Providers/organisations to demonstrate that they are well managed, provide good levels of client care and have systems in place to ensure delivery of good quality advice.

Financial Supplier Qualification System
We are committed to introducing responsible business practices that make it easier for our suppliers to do business with us. To support this commitment, we are part of the Financial Supplier Qualification System (FSQS) Community. It is designed to standardise and manage requests from multiple Financial Services Companies for compliance and assurance data.
