For our quarterly social, we swapped legal briefs for bullseyes at Lumberjaxs Axe Throwing Nuneaton based in Attleborough.

 

First came some expert tuition from Coggy and his team which included a safety briefing, followed by lessons in throwing one-handed and then two-handed. Coggy made it look easy, but we quickly discovered that axe throwing is much harder than it looks!

 

Then, armed with questionable nicknames and newfound confidence, the competition began. 

 

There were some impressive throws, plenty of misses and a few performances best described as “mitigating circumstances”.

 

The final didn’t quite live up to the hype, with the axes doing their best to avoid the target. But our Head of Accounts, Phil Invernizzi, came out victorious! Having scored the most points overall, the evidence was firmly in his favour.

 

The verdict? A worthy winner, a brilliant evening and plenty of laughs. No grounds for appeal, although some of us may request a retrial!
